1. What strengths did you bring to your mentorship/internship?
The strengths I brought for my data analytics internship was my strong background in math because this was my major for my associate's degree as well as my bachelor's degree. In addition, I have a strong background in Excel, so this attributed to me getting projects done quicker through this application.
2. What were your major weaknesses? What personal qualities could you have improved during your experience?
My weaknesses were my lack of marketing education at the time. I ended up taking my marketing course after I was done with my internship, which would have helped having the knowledge prior. Personal qualities I could have improved during my experience would be taking more initiative in coming up with my own projects to construct with all the data that was available to me.
3. Do you feel you adequately satisfied the duties expected of you by the sponsoring organization? Why or why not?
I feel I adequately satisfied the duties expected of me by the sponsoring organization because I was able to put together a presentation to reflect the end-of-the-year food and beverage survey results as well do a full analyzation on the text message data that had been received.
4. Do you feel you adequately satisfied the time requirements (150/200 clock hours) of the internship?
I know I adequately satisfied the time requirements of the internship because of the timesheet I kept up with as well as performing some hours before recording them.
5. What helpful suggestions would you make to future interns/mentees in your position?
To future interns/mentees in my position, I would suggest taking some initiative in finding anything else you can conclude through the data that is available to you. While you may have a lot of projects going on at once, when your schedule clears up a bit, there is a lot of freedom with what can be done with the data.
6. What did you gain from your experience? How will this experience help you when you leave Tiffin University?
From my experience, I gained more knowledge about how to perform in-depth analyses. I will take this information and use it towards my PhD program in sport management by analyzing different factors within name image likeness. This experience will help me when I leave Tiffin University because I have been introduced to some exposure within the sport industry, specifically through ticket sales and data analytics.
7. What overall grade do you feel you earned through your mentorship/internship experience? _________ Justify your response.
The overall grade I feel I earned through my mentorship/internship experience is an A because of how many projects I was able to conduct for the organization. While the information is confidential, I came to solid conclusions on some answers they were looking for. For example, when the best time would be to send out a text message in order to receive the most opens as well as the least opt-outs. I will also be able to take the knowledge I gained into my future career and schooling through the research I will conduct through the sport industry.
